About us

🤎 Meet Sophie and Karoline

Hi! We’re Sophie and Karoline — the humans behind Dog Besties.

Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives, and spending time with them is something that genuinely brings us joy. We’re the kind of people who can’t walk past a dog without saying hello, and we’ll happily spend hours walking, playing and cuddling with them.

Dog Besties grew from that love. We created it because we believe every dog deserves to feel safe, happy and loved, even when their owners are busy or away. Leaving your dog with someone else is a big decision, and we understand how important it is to know they’re in caring and trustworthy hands.

🐾 A lifetime around dogs

Growing up, dogs have always been a big part of both of our lives. Between us we’ve been lucky enough to share our homes with a wonderful mix of breeds and personalities — from Vizslas and German Shepherds to Poodles, Border Collies and a much-loved Labrador/Rottweiler rescue.

Because of this, we’re very comfortable caring for dogs with different temperaments, energy levels and needs. We also have experience with rescue dogs and understand that some dogs may need a little extra patience, understanding and time to build trust.

Over the years we’ve cared for dogs with a range of behavioural and medical needs, including reactive dogs, food guarding behaviours and dogs with ongoing health or medical conditions. Every dog is different, and we always take the time to learn their routine, boundaries and personality so they feel safe, relaxed and understood in our care.

 🤝🏼 Our approach

At Dog Besties, we treat every dog like one of our own.

We take the time to get to know each dog’s personality, routine and little quirks so they feel comfortable and relaxed with us. Some dogs love adventure and long sniffy walks, while others prefer a slower pace and plenty of cuddles — and we love them all.

Our aim is always the same: happy dogs, relaxed owners and lots of wagging tails.

  ⭐ Why "Dog Besties"?

At the heart of Dog Besties is something very simple — we genuinely love spending time with dogs. Whether it’s a peaceful countryside walk, a game of fetch, or just sitting with them for a cuddle, we want every dog to feel happy, comfortable and cared for while they’re with us.

We know how important your dog is to you, and we never take the trust you place in us lightly. Our goal is always to create a calm, positive experience for every dog we look after, so owners can feel completely at ease knowing their best friend is in safe hands.

Because to us, dogs aren’t just pets — they’re family, and every dog deserves a bestie 🐾

🐾 Some of our regulars

Some of the familiar faces we’re lucky enough to see on a regular basis. Each of these dogs has their own little quirks, favourite routes and routines we know by heart.

They brighten up our days and keep us company on walks. We feel very lucky that their families trust us to be part of their world. 🤎

Don’t just take our word for it – hear from the dog owners who trust us.

“Dog Besties has made such a difference for our rescue. Sophie and Karoline took the time to understand his worries and builds his confidence at his pace. The regular updates and photos are so reassuring – we know exactly how he’s doing while we’re at work.”

SUSAN

“We’ve never felt so at ease leaving our dog. The in‑home sitting service meant her routine stayed exactly the same, and we came back to a relaxed and happy dog. It’s clear how much care and thought goes into everything they do.”

ELISE

“Our puppy can be a bit full‑on, but Sophie and Karoline handle him with so much patience and calm. The drop‑in visits break up his day beautifully and we always come home to a content, settled dog. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dog Besties.”
